Impersonal. Not great with my three dogs. Not impressed. WORST front desk help. Highly recommend going elsewhere even if it’s a drive. Cave springs and lyons vet have been much better to work with.

Dr. Bird killed my dog. I had two dogs, but now after I took my 9 year old chihuahua to see a vet, she died after a week. On the website it says that his professional interests are “preventative medicine.” I wish that were true.

My dog has suffered from lumps and bumps on her body that we had removed twice. The first time we had a lump removed at another vet, the biopsy came back as benign, and we were told her breed was prone to get fatty bumps that do not cause harm. The second time was with Dr. Bird. By then we were concerned about cancer. We asked for a fine needle aspiration after doing research at home. Dr. Bird denied the fine needle aspiration and he said he could not, and that he recommended that we remove it, so we did. We did not send this lump off, as we were told it was probably nothing like last time.

The third time we took her in to be checked for a bump, we specifically asked for a fine needle aspiration again that we hoped would give us a comprehensive look at what the lumps were. Dr. Bird denied this again and said Gizmo had about a week to live *one second* after walking through the door. He didn’t even close the door behind him before he told us she was terminal, without even a close look at my baby. He also said not to bother him when the time came because he would be out of town and unavailable. At the time, Gizmo was in pain, but still eating and enjoying going to the park. That appointment resulted in a steroid, antibiotic, and yunnan baiyao. We followed instructions and gave her meds as prescribed. Looking back, I wish we didn’t give her any of those. The steroid caused ulcers in her stomach that caused her to completely stop eating. She was lethargic. Lost muscle control. Dr. Bird never warned us about side effects. After 7 days, we took her back concerned after she lost 3 pounds.

True to his word, Dr. Bird was out of town enjoying a vacation, so we saw Dr. J. She offered a fine needle aspiration, and without a surgery, we were told it was a mast cell. She told us to immediately stop taking the medications Dr Bird gave us, and said she was surprised as to why Dr. Bird denied us twice about the fine needle aspiration. I also mentioned to her that when Bird gave her the last surgery, she came home extremely bloody because he failed to clean her up. Dr J gave us hope, but unfortunately the next day, she passed.

If you come to this vet, I highly recommend you keep your pets far away from Bird. He is dismissive, impatient, vague, and at least in our case, didn’t care to help us with my first ever dog. Again, Gizmo was fine before this grifter prescribed her dangerous medicine that deteriorated her heath in 7 days.
