We have been taking our pets to the Downers Grove Animal Hospital for 30 years. The staff is always so friendly and knowledgeable. Great family run business.
I’ve gone here two or three times to get my green cheeked conure nails trimmed. First time was about a year ago and the doctor cut its nails with a human nail clipper, and while you can use a nail clipper its not the best option since its for flat nails. My bird did fine and only yelped once, wasn’t a bad experience.
A couple months I had to go again and they started charging 100$ for a health check. We all know they do this for extra money, but I didn’t have another option since I didn’t trust myself to cut my birds nails.
The doctor is very arrogant and acts like your dumb for not doing “basic” information.
Yes I know sandpaper perches will not file my birds nails down, WHY do you THINK I’m HERE? My bird was already frightened and it certainly didn’t help when the doctor cut way too much and he started bleeding. It looked like the doctor was panicking because the bleeding almost didn’t want to stop. THEN he said “cut them shorter so it can last you a while” something like that.
Seriously? I rather my bird have nails than little stubs. Don’t bring your bird here!! Its better to just cut your own birds nails, like I started doing.
