Doctor Sherman and the staff at Sunnyvale Veterinary Clinic are lifesavers. Literally. Ashley was egg bound, a life threatening condition that will kill a chicken in 1-3 days. The vets I had used previously for my chickens’ care were all unavailable and my husband and I were web searching and calling any vet clinic that seemed like they might possibly help, without success. When we called Sunnyvale Veterinary Clinic, we were told that Dr. Sherman treats chickens and could see Ashley just a couple of hours later.
Dr. Sherman was wonderful. She was very patient with my distress, answered questions clearly, and made reasonable recommendations. Once we determined that Ashley definitely was egg bound, she was very clear about what the options were and did the procedure to remove the stuck egg. It’s a dangerous procedure due to both the delicacy of the procedure and the high probability of sepsis, and I have every confidence that Dr. Sherman was very thorough in doing everything in her power to make sure no fragment was left behind. Dr. Sherman and the staff were also excellent at following up to see how Ashley was doing, and continuing to advise and answer questions related to her aftercare.
Ashley is pretty much back to her old self, although we won’t know for sure that she will definitely be okay until she starts successfully laying eggs. But given how well she is recovering, I am optimistic. What is certain is that if she had not been treated promptly, she would have died painfully.
Hopefully none of my ladies will need veterinary care again any time soon, but if any of them do, I will not hesitate to bring them to Dr. Sherman.

I was referred by a client of mine to Sunnyvale Vet Clinic. I have a cat who has upper respiratory issues, and a dog who has allergies. Sunnyvale Vet, specifically Dr. Thaler, has been outstanding from the start. Dr. Thaler is always understanding about my concerns, patient with all my many questions, and empathetic with my budget. I’ve taken my cat to a number of different vets and none of them were as high-quality as Sunnyvale Vet Clinic. My visits are ALWAYS satisfactory and reasonably priced. I highly recommend Dr. Thaler and Sunnyvale Veterinary Clinic!
