I had been taking my kiddos to this practice for years until my most recent visit in September 2022. This visit was unfortunately scheduled with Dr. Howie Baker. My pet has a very long history of anxiety/fear of going to the vet, mind you he’s been going there since 2015. He’s never in his years going there ever been aggressive with anyone, he simply is anxious and doesn’t like to be touched. Since this is an obvious issue, I give my kiddo enough anxiety/sedative meds to get him in there comfortably and ALWAYS warn them he’ll need to be temporarily sedated in order to give him any vaccines or blood draw. Although, this should be known since all his vet visits were at this practice.
Upon arrival, we were put in with a different Dr and tech as mentioned above, Dr. Baker. He was not even mildly caring or attentive to my pets needs, in fact he was down right rude. He stated that we needed to muzzle him which has never been done before. I’ve worked for YEARS to get him comfortable with going to the vet, the LAST thing I was going to do was traumatize him yet again to make things even worse. Dr. Baker stated "well, why does he have this reputation?" First of all, what reputation is that? Yes, he needs to be sedated because he’s anxious/fearful but he’s not a monster like he treated him and I that day. Never, ever would I consider going back after that visit. The staff and care has significantly gone downhill.
I immediately asked the front desk staff to have a manager reach out to me because of the manor of how that visit went, 100% unacceptable! Never received a call, they simply don’t care!
After that horrendous visit, I requested a copy of his full chart. Unfortunately, due to medical reasons I have to go through his medical chart from Caring Hands.
While reviewing the chart, I’m seeing all the notes, etc from his visits. Completely alarmed by what I’m reading, I’ve literally spent thousands of dollars at this clinic for the care of my pets/kids.
In 2021, he had an oral mass removal completed by Dr. Dunn whom previously was very kind and considerate of his personality. I was emailed the results of that procedure which very kindly at the end stated "Please reach out with any questions." I absolutely had more questions for the Dr of course, these are the notes in his chart: "11/1/2021 CH FNOTE$ By: ERC, call o can one of you please call this o for me to see how zaidan is doing today? if i call her she will keep me on the phone FOREVER!!! Thank you!! Post surgery had a mass removed in mouth. make sure is e/d ok, and how incision looks, thanks!"
WOW, I’m sorry that I have questions for a procedure that required CSU pathology!

Bottom line, the level of care has diminished significantly and you’re only a number. They charge top dollar and then upsell you on just about every visit.
If you have a pet that experiences any type of anxiety, this practice is not the place to go. With the Daycare in the basement of the facility, it’s a high stress environment the second you walk in the door. There are plenty of other Certified Fear Free Docs in our area that will give your kiddo a much better experience.

I highly recommend requesting a copy of your pets chart for review, some of the notes you might find alarming!

This practice was sold sometime in the last few months. Since that time, I’ve noticed a significant decline in the quality of care andba significant turnover of vets in the practice. Today, I tried to get an appointment for my sick cat and was told that because they don’t have enough vets on staff, the earliest appointment I could get is in two weeks. They then referred me to several other practices in the area.

Caring Hands was a great veterinary hospital when it was owned by Brett Rhodes. Unfortunately, under the new owners it’s not a place I will take my pets going forward.

Caring Hands Veterinary Hospital has been our "other" family doctor for over 10 years. They’ve seen our pets through everything from routine dental care through knee surgery and end of life decisions. The care and compassion of the vets, particularly Dr. Stacy Jones, as well as the entire office staff is nothing short of incredible. If you have a cat or a dog that needs veterinary care, you won’t find better care than at Caring Hands.

Way over priced. I’m going to pay a lot less to have my dog spayed elsewhere.

I know Caring Hands is short staffed but I just took my dog there for an emergency and we were turn away.

Looking for a new vet after today.

    Very disappointed.

$390 for a sedation grooming for my 9 pound malti poo. Use to pay around $200. Been coming here for a couple years but am now forced to find other options. Other then that no complaints. Can’t and won’t be back.
