I have a rabbit who is going on 10 years old. She has only been taken to broward avian. Dr. Kelleher is passionate and good at what she does. Out of her team, I started seeing Dr.Swann recently and I adore him. Hes honest and straightforward, kind and understanding. He helped me to really understand what to expect and monitor with my “little old lady.”
I will forever recommend this vet to anyone with an exotic. Even if you have to drive to get to her, its completely worth it.

Went here today for a wellness exam and concern for a cough! My bunny is now 11 1/2 and has been going to here since she was 2. This time I saw Dr. Healan. She was so incredibly kind and informative. I could tell she really cared about my pet and doing what was best for her. She was not pushy about getting tests done and came up with affordable solutions when certain tests were not possible.
Very caring staff all around!! The Dr explained the diagnosis and was very thorough and easy to understand.
If you have a pet rat, go to Animal Medical Center & Bird Clinic. Just from the call alone I was very disappointed with Broward Avian & Exotic Animal Hospital. Any questions I asked, I was given an “I don’t know” and nothing else. They did not have any information on how much a simple teeth trimming for a rat would cost nor did the person know if they clipped or burred the teeth and he did not even attempt to get the information for me. Basically they want you to go in for an office visit that cost, so and so, and a separate charge just for the vet to see them. I know enough about animals, meds, and costs of things to get an estimate of what they would end up eventually charging me, with the little information he gave me, and previous experience with vet offices that do this sort of thing. If a vets office is not willing to get information that you ask about or give pricing, do not go to them. They will only be in it for money and tell you the most expensive prices without giving you any other options. They will automatically go to surgery when a warm compress, some time, and cleaning will do the same thing.
