My dog swallowed an object and I went to this hospital and talked to a vet, GARY C. PAIT.

I asked him what I should do, he talked in circles and would not give me a direct answer. He talked about malpractice suits and this location was a satellite hospital, not fully equipped. He said" well what if you weren’t home and your dog swallowed something, you never would know". I said" well I was home and I know he did, that’s why I’m here! His double talk and condescending attitude made me angry. All I wanted was some advice about what to do! Should I feed him, should I make him throw up, should I just give him liquids… I don’t know, I’m not a vet! My dog swallowed something and I’m concerned! Obviously realizing I’m getting now where with this guy, I said "thank you" and left. Mr. Pait followed me outside and was shouting at me while following me down the street and insulted me by saying" I’m sorry sir that you have no patience". WOW! Are you kidding me? I kept asking him to get away from me, he insisted and would not leave me alone, then insulted me when I refused to listen to him any further. I have never experienced anything like this, especially from a professional. Unbelievable!

I am disappointed as this hospital is near my home, and I was happy to find it, but I want nothing to do with that place. Especially some crack pot who follows people down the street!

I called my old vet in Miami, and was told what to do promptly.

My cat was over-grooming and had lost a considerable amount of hair. She had been treated by another Vet to the tune of a couple of thousands dollars for two years and the condition remained unresolved. I saw Dr. Pait, who conducted a thourough exam and recommended an anti-anxiety medication, a treatment that had been rejected by the prior Vet, and every thing improved dramatically.

I have given this location a few chances. After today that mistake wont happen again.
I bring my dog here ONLY to be groomed (I don’t trust the vets at this location or the one on Alton) since they are cheaper than most groomers in south beach and usually have an amazing male technician who truly cares for and takes his time with my dog.
Today I called in very early and asked if I could make an appointment to have my dog groomed.. the lady assured me I didn’t need an appointment and could go ahead and bring my baby in. Excited to not have to sit around and wait with a stinky pup I immediately made my way over. I arrived at the office with one other person in the lobby waiting. I myself then waited a decent amount of time for someone to come out and take my baby away to get clean. I said my sad goodbyes knowing my sweet senior english bulldog has slight anxiety when I leave her alone ESPECIALLY at a vets office. Which is why I ALWAYS make appointments so she never has to sit in a cage for long amounts of time in a strange place with other dogs and people she doesn’t know.
2 AND A HALF HOURS GO BY I hadn’t heard anything from the vets office so i decided to call in. Not only had they not bathed her yet the lady was very rude and obviously could have cared less. saying that "oh they just started bathing her and she should be ready in 2 hours or so… ridiculous!
This is absolutely unacceptable to me. For a person such as myself who sees their animals as their children you want to be able to trust the people you leave your pet with. I’ve never loved the staff at this location and ESPECIALLY not at the alton location, but continue to use them for grooming because of one technician who I hadn’t seen in a while. This time the blame is on me. I should have known better than to take her here. Bottom line don’t trust these people with your animals. Read the other reviews and make sure this is a risk you are willing to take when deciding on a vet. Some very sad things have happened at these two offices.

not sure why others have bad reviews about this clinic but every time I go it’s always friendly staff and knowledgeable vets
