I would give this place negative stars if I could, and I’m not even the type to leave reviews at all. Palm City Avian & Exotic has been nothing but an absolute headache since the moment I walked in their door. They will run tests without consent or reviewing it with you, and then ask you to pay for them without any communication from the doctor who felt the testing was necessary in the first place. They trimmed my parrots wings without consent when she was in the ER. It took over 10 hours to hear any kind of update at all from the doctor when she was admitted into the ER, and even then, I had to contact them. I gave them another chance when I dropped her off for boarding and made sure to communicate that if any testing needed to be done, to please call me first. I picked her back up on Monday with another $500 vet bill, a new test, and a new treatment given for my parrot that was not necessary nor explained to me in any way shape or form. Every visit (4, one attempted where I waited for an hour and a half and had to leave for another appt) we ever had with Dr. April I ended up waiting for over an hour. I have been trying to get my birds medical records from them for over a month and get the same exact response every time I try, "the doctor has to review them." What kind of records take over a month to review? It genuinely makes me question which tests were actually ran, or was I just charged for things that the vet said was done? $1500+ in vet bills to you guys and you can’t even give me documentation of what was completed and her results? Avoid them, at all costs. Truly the worst experience I have EVER had with a vet.
Negligent doctor. Rude and dismissive staff. Nonexistent communication. Charges you for things which aren’t agreed upon and are unable to show documentation or records that such services are/were needed. This place is a scam and the doctor is a scammer. Doesn’t even deserve the one star. Do not bring your pets here.
DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE. The doctor is extremely rude and greedy. We would all do anything to help our beloved animals and this place will scam and scheme you because of it. Running tests that do not need to be done, injections without your consent, ridiculous boarding fees because no one ever calls you back when you can pick up your pet. If you want horrible care for a top rate price this is the spot. Do not be fooled.
A++ Experience!!! This place is amazing!!! They helped my bird when no one else could. They actually took the time to explain all the testing and why it was necessary, instead of just haphazardly giving me antibiotics like other vets did before without any testing. Upon this testing we found out my pet had infections in both the crop and rear end, each area grew something different and there we some meds my pet was resistant to. So they found out what worked, gave me the correct meds and healed my little man. He is now back to playing and talking, just like before this all started. I want to give a huge shout out to the fabulous staff that work long hours and obviously have such passion for helping all types of animals. The Doctor spent so much time educating me on all things regarding my birds care, diet and overall health. I love that you get a Mom & Pop feel and personal attention and care, not some corporate rush to push you out the door within a specific time frame. I did have to wait a while to be seen but they were clearly very busy and helping other various pets and owners. It was so interesting seeing all the different pets they care for. What a wonderful place, Good Job Avian & Exotic, You guys are true Rock Stars!!! Kiwi and I have found a place that feels like home. Gift Basket is on the way. My family loves you so much!!!! Thank you for everything.
