DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE.

Found my dog unresponsive and dying when I got home from work. Called Rivertown and they said come in. When I arrived I got out of my truck and a woman came out and asked “Where is the dog?” . I said “In the truck”/ She then asked “Who will be paying?”. I said “I am”. She said “Come in and fill out the paperwork.” I thought to myself ‘Why are you not getting my dog out of the truck and taking her in?’. I go in and begin to fill out the paperwork. I started at the top of the form like you normally do but she said “Start at the bottom and work your way up.”. She also demanded my driver’s license. I get my license out and focus my attention back on the form. I thought to myself ‘You are more interested in who is paying than you are about my dog’. I then said “What kind of operation is this?”. She took this statement as verbal abuse and she grabbed my license and the form and said “You need to leave.” and escorted me out of the building, gave me my license, said I have to go to Auburn and locked the door.

Yes, What kind of operation is this that you have an animal in an emergency situation and all you care about is getting paid your $900. Why don’t you care about my animal? Why isn’t she being rushed into the facility and being treated? And, why when you are desperately needing help and you say something that you take as verbal abuse that you kick them out and lock the door?

I then called my dog sitter who works at a local vet. She called the clinic that she works at and a doctor was still there though it was after 6:00, my vet clinic was closed. I rushed my dog there and after a few minutes the doctor came and said that she was gone.

My dog may not have been saved if she had gotten treatment but the lady, the doctor I guess, at Rivertown was extremely rude and uncaring, only interested about being paid $900. Who knows, had my dog actually gotten treament here, how much would the bill end up being.

Please, if you care anything about your pet, do not take your pet here.

I am going to report this clinic to the Georgia State Board of Veterinary Medicine and do what I can to get this facility shut down. I urge you to do the same.

This clinic does not deserve any stars.
