We were loyal clients for over 13 years in both the hospital and daycare and were normally there 3 to 5 days a week every week. We pulled our scotties from this clinic and daycare as they were being kenneled for 5+ hours a day when in daycare. We had a yr old puppy with a lot of energy that was spending over 5 hrs in a kennel 3 to 5 days a week. He was acting out as he was not getting the attention or exercise he needed and then was being kenneled even longer. He scratched at the pan in his kennel so much that he did not want his nails trimmed when being groomed. Now, because of this, he has reactivity issues. When I found out this was going on, I told the drs and staff that we would not be coming back. When I spoke to them about it, it seemed like common practice and that it wasn’t a big deal. We have switched clinics, and that was the best decision ever! I would not recommend taking your beloved pets here, especially for daycare.

Dogs in Heartland Day care are provided with an interactive day of play with other dogs of the same temperament and the Kennel Assistants and a time of rest to reenergize to play again.
It is true that COVID-19 has put a challenge on the schedule we have for a family of dogs in Day Care that require additional time during the day. We have followed all the standards set forth by the CDC and the various governmental agencies to assure that our staff is safe as well as following the COVID standards to reduce spread of COVID by interaction with dogs set forth by American Veterinary Medical Association, Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association, America Animal Hospital Association and Kentucky Board of Veterinary Examiners. By adding these standards to our day to day standards we have assured that our staff and family of dogs are safe.
A brief summary of our daily schedule is listed below. Please call us to discuss the daily activity schedule or request for us to send you a brochure.
    7:30 am – to 9:00 am – Arrival.
Upon arrival all dogs are taken to the yard for a bathroom break.
Then they are kenneled in their assign home so the Kennel Assistants can begin to assign each dog to a group based on their temperament and play interaction.
9:00 am – 11:00 pm – Let the fun begins as the dogs and the Kennel Assistants begin their day of fun, running and playing.
11:00 am – 12:00 pm – If we have dogs in attendance that can only play with the Kennel Assistants or with only a couple of friends, then a play area is assigned to them.
12:00 pm- 2:00 pm – Nap time, each dog is put in their home for relaxation.
    2:00 pm – 4:00 pm – Play time again
4:00 pm – 5:30 pm – Based on number of dogs in attendance and the time they are usually picked up, we begin to bring in each of our doggies to be cleaned and ready to jump in the car when their owner arrives.

I rarely do reviews, but this is warranted. First of all, the girl with brown hair that works in the office is incredibly rude. From the moment I walked in the door she rolled her eyes, pursed her lips and spoke to me as if I was an inconvenience. Then they showed me the cost of my pet’s visit.
One year and seven months ago I took my pet to Heartland. In those months the same procedure increased in price by $130. And the new price didn’t even include yearly immunizations like the first time. Outrageous.
I’m amazed that they can treat their clients so poorly and raise prices that high and still stay in business. If they didn’t have doggy day care, I doubt they would still be in business.
I don’t trust them with my furbaby. I wouldn’t trust them with yours either. There are several vets in Etown. Please call around and find one that has fair prices and has employees who are trustworthy and kind to your pet. This is not that place.
