Our cat was not urinating and it was a Friday night fairly late. We took him to MedVet and told them what was happening and they first mentioned putting in a catheter and draining his bladder. Then the vet comes in and says it’s just a UTI and something dribbled out. Completely false. Sent us home with a $700 bill and did absolutely nothing. Cat was in pain all night and still not urinating as before. Took him to our vet in the morning and they said right away he was blocked and needed a catheter and flushed out. Med Vet was not helpful at all and I am very disappointed in the service especially because I feel like they just took us for lots of money. Won’t go again.
Our older dog Mason had a large tumor that broke open over the weekend in the middle of the night. We knew our big boys time was coming to an end, but knowing that didn’t make it any easier. When I called MedVet to explain what was going on, the young lady who answered the phone was very kind. When we arrived with our dog Mason, they met us outside and helped us carry our boy inside because he could no longer walk. Once they examined him, they let us know there was nothing they could do and it was time for us to say our goodbyes. They were so empathetic and explained the process in great detail and answered all of our questions. They even have a sweet room set up where you get to be with your beloved pet to say goodbye that is private and comfortable. It was very difficult to make this decision and to say goodbye even though we knew it was the right thing to do so he could no longer be in pain. But, MedVet made this process as easy as it can be when saying goodbye to a loved family member like our dog Mason. We also got Mason cremated with them and they handled him with extreme compassion. When I picked up his remains, they had put him in this special wooden box and even had taken an imprint of his paw and made it into an ornament keepsake. These are items we will cherish forever. I would highly recommend MedVet for anyone who has to go through losing a pet. They truly treat your pet and you like you are their family too.
My sisters German shepherd had lost use of his legs this morning. He was in pitiful shape and euthanasia was the only recourse. We brought the dog in and the staff was extremely courteous, compassionate, and professional. Provided us ample opportunity to say farewell and then linger after the deed was done. Wonderful facility and staff! From the bottom of my heart I could not thank you all enough.
Drove 2 hrs for 2 dogs having medical issues. $150 just to be seen per dog.$100 per dog for parvo test.. took vitals and details then gave us a plan for $2300-2600 per dog!!?? Just to stay overnight and give them fluids and check vitals and go one dogs x-ray.. absolutely ridiculous when u have to choose to possibly lose ur pet or go into huge debt!!!!
They gave us an outpatient option and they are just fine now ($835!)
