I am beyond grateful for this vet practice. Yesterday, my elderly dog was experiencing a medical emergency, and her regular vet was not able to see her. I called Wake, and the woman on the phone was so on top of things. I loaded Leia up and headed straight there, and everyone I encountered was wonderful, from the vet to the techs to the front desk. Dr. Biscoglio was incredible. She was kind, thorough, compassionate, and she took the time to explain things in great detail. Her bedside manner was so comforting during a time of fear and uncertainty. When she realized that Leia would likely need extensive and specialized care, she reached out to NC State and sent us to their emergency department. NCSU was already waiting and prepared for us when we walked through the door. Since yesterday, I’ve had several people reach out to me with anecdotes about how Wake saved their pets’ lives. I couldn’t recommend this practice more!

I know some folks say that things maybe didn’t go well for them, there’s always two sides to a story.
For us it was a trying time in the beginning with an emergency visit after hours that ultimately in lead to tplo surgery for our 6 year old Belgian malinois.
The staff from the moment we walked in through the emergency visit going into the surgery and taking our boy home could not have been more polite, caring, helpful, professional.
For us it was a nervous time and we were met with caring people. Our old vet didn’t have weekend emergency hours so we had to come here.
Dr. Spodnick, and ( Alyssa) are truly kind people who care not only for the animals they serve but the owners.
    Thank you all.
From our Charlie blue , Kathy and me ( pops).

In following up on this 5 weeks later we are truly heart broken and saddened about the final outcome for our Charlie. The surgical need and recovery was fine there were just other things that maybe could have been addressed earlier and we feel may have turned out better.
With that said I still want to thank Alyssa very much ( she genuinely cares ) and Dr. Spodnick for what they did.

My dog Bear went there with a fractured elbow. Alyssa, the surgery manager and Dr. Spodnick were awesome. We went to 2 other Vet’s who said they didn’t recommend doing corrective surgery and kept hinting towards amputation. We came in and met Dr. Spodnick and he was very professional and empathetic compared to other Vets who kept making the joke "dogs are born with 3 legs and a spare" like it was something hilarious. He said if it was my dog I’d give it a shot. The surgery went fantastic, Bear always had a chronic limp prior to the broken elbow and after the surgery and recovery he walks like’s a normal dog. We are forever grateful to Dr. Spodnick for his work and the Wake Vet staff including Alyssa the surgery manager who was very patient from day 1 when it came to explaining the process & discussing cost. She printed out the estimate and explained everything that was getting charged & why. She was very thorough vs some other Vets who are just trying to run you for your money.

    Thanks Wake Vet Hospital

We saw Dr. Shannon Raboin late Sunday evening with our dog, Gracie…back injury. Front desk staff and physician were all fantastic, and the cost was less than anticipated. Dr. Raboin suggested that we not do x-rays since Gracie passed her four reflex-zone tests, and I thought that was very sensible. I didn’t feel for a moment that Dr. Raboin was under-assessing or over-assessing. The whole experience was encouraging, and I understood the doctor’s diagram, explanation, and reasoning. His rapport with us was practical and personable as well. They called to check on Gracie a few days later, and the call sounded sincere. They inspire confidence. Highly recommend this practice. *P.S. After the injections that night and a week of prescriptions, Gracie is back to herself. 🙂
