Took our dog in just to get nails trimmed, 2 vaccines that are needed yearly, a heart worm test, and check his teeth. They told us when we dropped him off that it was going to be around $320, (which still feels to be over priced, in my opinion). The woman was telling us about their Well Care Plan packages and we said we would CONDSIDER it. Apparently, that gave them the ok to do all the tests and preventative treatments that were available in one of the Well Care plans, conducting these tests without disclosing this information to us and without our consent. Tests that he didn’t even need considering he was perfectly healthy when we took him in. When we went to pick him up, we told them that we did not want to do the Well Care Plan and wanted to pay the allotted amount for what we thought were a few simple shots and trim. Instead of being charged $320, they charged us $572.51! For tests that we did not even ask for and tests that were not disclosed to us, all because we told them we were CONDSIDERING the plan and was not definitive about it. Do not take your pet to this place, they will rob you blind.
UPDATE: Our dog is now sick from the large amount of vaccines that they gave him. They did not tell us that he could possibly get sick and now we are keeping a watchful eye on him, hoping it doesn’t get worse. They should have told us he may have had a reaction to all the medications and should not have put so many vaccines in him in one session (especially considering how small he is). They should not have to bombarded a small dog with so many vaccines and tests just for the sake of selling a Well Care Plan.
The year is 2023 and they still refuse to have in room appointments except for one day a week due to COVID. I want to ask the vet questions but can’t because I have to just drop my dog off. On top of that, I had a pet issue, not an emergency but still serious, didn’t answer the phone for 3 hours after they were supposed to be open. Find a local vet in the area – this Banfield location is horrendous.
Very professional staff. Anything we asked, they answered. Accommodated the dogs every need.
