I just paid $480.00 for a skin rash, ear infection, and allergies while we have the OWP and pay $138.90 each month. This completely unattainable and unrealistic to ask people to pay. The cost is so much that not just me but, other families are just not going to be able to even care for their pets. This leaves both families, including mine, and animals at risk of lack of care because of these unreasonable prices. We spend $1,666.80 dollars a year on the OWP their wellness plan, believing it will reduce our cost for visits. Yet, in this scenario I can save that $1,600 and find a vet that will not nickel and dime me for each little thing, like an ear cleaning when my dog has infected ears. This would be just quality care since he was in for that and I still have to pay $480. I can google alternatives for pets and have better luck than trying to afford the outlandish prices of vet meds. Although, I do not want to do this, paying $618 this month alone on vet bills is not financially doable or realistic, sustainable, or good business practice. If you care for animals and your practice you should really reconsider your current model or advocate for different pricing. You will be losing at least this client, along with my $1,666 yrly payments and around $200 it seems we still have to spend each visit we have. I am sure there are other people like me that will also be leave in this current economy and it will hurt your practice. I wish this wasn’t so, because I do care for my pets and they are not a fan of change. It has taken a long time for them to feel comfortable with their visits. I also can not refer others, but warn them of these issues because of this visit. During the visit it was hard even to keep track of the cost starting from around $200, which I was already frustrated and overwhelmed to $480 super fast and I could not even keep up by the end of the visit. Plus, not doing what he vet is suggesting make it seem like I don’t caring for my pet excepting a professionals opinion. Which is the whole reason I came to the vet, not wanting my dog in pain or irritated. So unfortunately we will not be returning.
They cost a lot and provide minimal support, no real solutions.
The most uncaring and un co-operative banfield. Our dog was extremely sick , we had an appointment and they refused to see us , we were 5 mins late. Banfield procides poor service and only charges monthly with no real care provided. We will be definitely exiting both our dogs from their “care”
