I took my guinea pig to Lakeway Vet for redness and bleeding on his leg. They cleaned the area, said it was a scratch, and sent me home with antibiotics. Turns out he had ringworm, which another of my guinea pigs contracted before I could get it properly diagnosed at Research Pet and Bird Hospital. I do not recommend Lakeway Vet for small pets/exotics.
I had an emergency situation after one of my dogs was bit by another dog while being at a pet sitters house. It was never mentioned to me so by the time I picked him up the wound had become infected and had turned into an abscess. They took us in right away and ended up having to do surgery. I?m so thankful to the entire staff for getting us in so quickly and they took great care of my pets. I decided since I moved that I would switch vets and now will be going to Lakeway Vet for all our future needs. They are fantastic!
New ownership and management has led to an increase in nickel and diming as well as a worse experience. In search of a new vet after many happy years here.
