This was our first visit with Dr. Nichol and her team and they were amazing!! I loved our previous vet but the prices there were absolutely insane. So glad to have found a wonderful team!!

Coco has been coming here for over 13 years. The care she gets is outstanding, and everyone in the office is great. They all answer and questions or concerns that we have, and when something unexpected pops up that we want to have her seen about, they find room in their schedule to see her. And most importantly, they always treat Coco with love and care.

I am not one to post negative reviews as evidenced by my post history. However, I unfortunately cannot recommend this Vet office. I have had several negative experiences there and seeing my dog in pain has led me to sharing this review.

Initially as a puppy he had stomach issues that I brought him in several times for. Even though tests always came back negative for parasites/issues, he was continually given antibiotics which I was not comfortable with doing so many times. There was no real guidance in getting to the root of the issue, but rather constant medication pushed on him.

The second issue which SHOULD have been my final straw was his neuter experience a year ago. He had some complications, which I tried to be understanding about. I was told I could pick him up, but then when I got there I was told he needed to stay overnight because of how severe his swelling was. He would have been unattended overnight so I insisted on taking him with me. On the drive from the office to my home, his bandages were soaked through with blood. I immediately took him to another emergency vet where he needed medical care all night ($1500). I didn’t want to blame South Flower Mound Animal Hospital because things happen, but in hindsight I wish I questioned it more. I truly was never given a real answer for what caused these complications. I attached the least offensive photos because the others I have may be upsetting.

My last straw is this…Friday he went in for a routine check up where I was advised/pressured that he needed his ear fur plucked in order for ear cleaner to work. I reluctantly agreed and heard his yelps of pain through the door as it was being done. He was NOT there for an ear issue. I have been cleaning his ears just fine. The plucking was $25 and for the past several days he has been in such UNNECESSARY pain and discomfort that he is now developing an ear hematoma from scratching and shaking his head. This could have been avoided if I stuck to my instincts and refused the service. (His groomer was doing just fine keeping his ears trimmed/clean). He hasn’t had an ear infection since 1.5 yrs ago when he was a little puppy, so clearly what I’ve been doing since then was working just fine.

I have called and complained and have been refunded for the $25 ear hair plucking, but I don’t even care about the money at this point. I just feel terrible for seeing my dog go through this discomfort. I just want others to know of my experience.

I am so happy to bring my fur babies here. They always take amazing care of them. I?ve never once felt uncomfortable leaving my babies in their care. One of my fur babies has extreme anxiety and they make sure she?s comfortable and cared for. Dr. Nichol is always amazing and explains everything to me. I couldn?t dream of taking my babies anywhere else.

I?ve been taking my French bulldog here since he was a puppy. They?ve taken very good care of him over the years. He has extreme allergies and skin infections repeatedly and they are always right on top of it, making sure he gets taken care of and he is in the best health he can be. The vets are always very kind to him, and they just love him! I wouldn?t have another vet if I could.
