I was referred for my Frenchie being so lethargic. I was told over the phone to bring him and they would test for PARVO in the parking lot. Fee $250. 10 minutes later I arrive, lady told me it was going to be a 4 hour wait and rushed me off the phone. I called Burleson emergency Animal ER instead and was told to come right away. They took us right back to proceeded with exam. Exam rate $140 and no wait for the care he needed. The staff was very kind and concerned.

Went to them due to it being a Sunday. Immediately met with what?s wrong with your pet and told $1200 upfront before they have a tech examine your pet . Luckily we were able to or you are sent away. After my pet was examined by the tech we were told it won?t be $1,200 because he was not in respiratory distress. That should?ve been my first red flag. The vet came in shortly to gather history and explained what testing was needed. Not much compassion, the only person who showed empathy was the tech Brandon. Before we left we had to pay for future service for our pet being hospitalized, which is understandable.
Unfortunately our pet did not make it. I called to make arrangements, heartbroken not thinking all that should be ask about cremation. I called back 30 minutes later to ask clarifying questions only to be met with attitude. They told me he would get a cider box urn. When I asked for some thing else as shown from the cremation website, my question was met with hostility and told the receptionist can talk to you. Reception is picked up. I asked questions and the response I received ? I?m sorry I thought I just heard this explained to you?. Very taken back. Unprofessional response. I was not making demands- but asking to choose an urn that matches my pets personality. With the same tone the receptionist gave me very brief description of what else was offered, but she made sure I understood that whatever she was looking at was difficult to describe with ?I don?t know um like blue vase, metal?.
I work in the medical field for palliative care. I could never imagine talking to a family member with carelessness durning difficult process. You will not find compassion or empathy here. You are better off looking in the dictionary. As far as treatment for my pet – nothing special, except the lack of empathy. Don?t go here unless you have the money to pay upfront before your pet is even seen.

I cannot say enough good things about this ER. Everyone who works there was incredibly kind, accommodating and knowledgeable. Savannah at the front desk was calm and so joyful, she made a hard day better. Rafael the vet tech was so compassionate and ready to get all the history he could from us, checking in with us regularly with his calming presence. We had tears shed and he was very compassionate and empathetic. Dr. Wortley worked with us and was patient when we were making big decisions and made us feel confident in the plan of treatment we chose today. I am so thankful for this place. I cannot recommend this ER Vet enough. Thank y?all for making a really hard day a easier.

My mini-doxie was very sick and needed emergency surgery to survive. I?m 84 yrs old, and in my entire life, I have never seen a DVM & assistant work so hard to not only save my pup, but help me find a way to secure the finance?s necessary. This is a shout-out to both Dr. Gallivan & Mckensee, thank you so much, you guys rock !
