We have tried many small/exotic vets, and this is by far our favorite. When I put down my rabbit, they were so friendly and treated him like he was their own pet, they even got a pawprint of his feet for us.
We took our cat in because he was starting to pee blood around the house. We were initially told that it was inflammation related to stress. They gave us some recommendations to reduce that stress and gave us antibiotics at one point. We followed all the recommendations and nothing improved (actually got worse). We took him in 2 other times for follow-up because it wasn’t getting better. They continued to say it was most likely stress related without trying to do any other tests.
We ended up getting a 2nd and 3rd opinion and both of those vets agreed the problem was a massive tumor (easily seen on an x-ray by both other vets) in his bladder. We are now in the process of scheduling an appointment with another company to put our poor kitty down.
What angers me about Banfield is the fact that when what they told us to try kept not working, they didn’t suggest getting x-rays or any other path. I don’t know that it would have changed our cat’s fate at all, but it would have saved us a ton of money in 2nd and 3rd opinions. We won’t be coming back to this place ever again.
Nothing but positives to say about Banfield Hospital. Our chihuahua had her teeth cleaned and a large lipoma removed last week and Dr. Grover did an incredible job! Our dog is recovering very well and the area around the surgical site looks great! Highly recommend Banfield for any pet needs.
